Citizen Council in Ilam Municipality conducted plantation campaign at Gumba Danda Community forest which is in ward No 8 in Ilam municipality on 21July,2012. The aim of the afforestration is to support to the municipality for its concept of the Green City campaign. More than 500 plants of different spices have been planted on the occasion. The plantation program was resumed with planting a breed by Mr. Rajendra Kafle, the District Forest Officer. Members of CC, NGO and GO officials and representatives, journalists, and forest users groups, and civil society participated in the plantation program.

During closing session, speakers expressed it is one of the important and creative activity of CC, Abhiyan and HURF Nepal. They added that it should be continued throughout the municipality even in the district because it is the most important aspects of the Green City, tourism and biodiversity.

The program was conducted in support of Abhiyan Nepal and HURF Nepal by CC in Ilam Municipality.
