HURF Nepal organized district level interaction program with district level stakeholders in 7 districts in Eastern Nepal in September, 2014. The one day interactions were organized to inform about the project "Effort against Child Rights Violation and for Peace Education, which has been ongoing in 7 districts namely Ilam, Jhapa, Panchthar, Taplejung, Terhathum, Dhankuta and Sankhuwasabha districts in Mechi and Koshi Zone. Likewise the events aimed to develop coordination among the district level stakeholders for the smooth and effective implementation of the project. The project covers 65 VDC/Municipalities within the 7 districts.
District level stakeholders i.e. officials and representatives of political parties, district education office, DAO, DDC, DCWB, Women and Children office, media, journalists, DPO and NGOs and coordinating partners participated the interaction. The participants expressed their commitment to work for child rights and peace education program through offering their available support and coordination.
The project is being conducted in 65 VDCs and schools in the 7 districts in eastern Nepal by HURF Nepal. The project is supported by Kindermissionswerk, Germany and locally coordinated by ECDF Taplejung, HUCODEC Panchthar, MJK Jhapa, CDF Dhankuta, Deurali Society Terhathum and TST Sankhuwasabha.
