Ilam/ Nov- Dec, HURF Nepal with support of ZFD-GIZ  is conducting  training project on Mediation and conflict transformation for the members of Local peace Committees in district and VDC level in Six districts in Eastern Nepal. 30 VDC level LPCs from Ilam, Jhapa, Panchthar, Taplejung, Terhathum and Sankhuwasava districts and the district level LPCs of the respective districts are being trained.  The Project coordinator, Shikhar Nath Sapkota Said, ' The project planned to train more than 500 peace workers in communities'
District level coordination meeting with district level Local Peace Committee was conducted in 6 districts in Eastern Nepal. The district LPCs were informed about the project. The meeting selected 5 VDC/Municipality level LPCs for the five days training on mediation and conflict transformation on their respective district.

Joint Meeting with VDCs and VDC level LPCs
After selection of the VDC from the first coordination meeting with DLPC, HURF organized joint meeting with District LPC, VDC LPC and VDC secretaries to inform about the project in all 6 districts. The meetings decided the training date for the five days training.

2 Days Advanced training on Mediation and Conflict transformation:
2 days advanced refresher training for the members of District level LPC was organized in Taplejung and Panchthar District. LPC members from panchthar and Taplejung districts participated on the 2 days training. Review of the LPC activities, their problem, skills on mass mediation, structural violence's, and  role of LPCs were the content of the training. HURF's mediators and facilitators facilitated the 2 days training program.
