HURF Nepal with support of ZFD-GIZ has trained 36 Local Peace Committees of the 6 different districts in Eastern Nepal. District level LPCs of Ilam, Panchthar, Taplejung, Jhapa, Terhathum and Sankhuwasava districts were trained with advanced skills on conflict transformation.
Likewise, 30 VDC/Municipality level LPCs (5 from each district) were trained on the 40 hours practical skills on conflict transformation and mediation on which more than 500 mediators were developed and mobilized in the community level.
HURF Nepal has been conducting campaign on mediation since 2001 and has already developed more than 2000 skilled mediators in eastern Nepal.
The training project was organized under the project "Basic Training on Conflict transformation and Mediation" which has been conducted since October, 2015.
