Community Mediation Committee (CMC) organized 2 days review and planning meeting in VDC level in 3 VDCs namely Puwamajhuwa, Nayabazar and Sulubung in Ilam. The meeting remained for 2 days in each VDC. The meeting was conducted in 2 Phases, review of the CMC activities, its progress sharing and annual planning as intensive organizational activities as first phase on the first day where interaction with VDC level stakeholders about CMCs, as a part of the VDC, and its plan and role of CMC and local stakeholders were discussed as the second phase on the second day of the meeting.
The first phase was facilitated by HURF mediators to review and plan for the CMC with CMC member. A stakeholders meeting with local political parties, CBOs leaders, women and dalit activists and civil society was organized on the second day. The progress and plan of the CMC was released by the CMC ward where role VDC and stakeholders was facilitated by VDC secretary in their respective VDC.
Due attention, CMCs has been accepted as a part of VDC by Gov'n of Nepal and VDCs have already taken as ownership of the CMCs as their part for peace building. The meetings were jointly organized by CMC and VDC.
