HURF Nepal has released human rights situation of Ilam district organizing 1 day interactive workshop with different level stakeholders on 5th Dec 2016. The report showed that the situation of human rights is still poor due to several issues on civil and political rights, socio economic and cultural rights. The report showed that consumer rights violation is high due to lack of effective monitoring. The report was prepared and released by Yoga Raj Sapkota on behalf of HURF Nepal.  Likewise, INSEC representative, Kokila Dhakal released the record of cases in the year of 2016. The report showed that cases of  rape especially child rape was increased in this year. The report showed there were 16 child rape cases were recorded out of 24 rape cases. There were 21 cases in 2015 and 11 in 2014. Likewise, the report showed the data of polygamy -7, domestic violence -41, child marriage -1 and caste based discrimination -1. The cases of suicide seemed increased 109 in 2016. Addressing the interaction based on the papers, district level stakeholders expressed their commitment to correct on their own to address the raised issues during the interaction. The program was jointly organized by HURF Nepal and INSEC. Addressing the interaction chief guest, Eastern Regional Commissioner of National Human Rights Commission, Jhankar Bahadur Rawal highlighted to the duties and accountabilities of an individual and cooperation and coordination for collective effort for protection and promotion of human rights.
