HURF Develops Mediators in Mechi

8 days residential basic mediation training was organized during 10-17 April, 2017  in Ilam. 27 participants including officials and representatives of High court, district court, lawyers, lectures, teachers and civil society activists from Ilam, Jhapa, Taplejung and Panchthar districts participated the training. The training was based on the basic mediation curricula of the mediation council and remained practical training. The trained mediators can apply their name for the mediators' rooster in court and can handle community mediation as well. Mediators and facilitators of HURF Nepal, Devendra Biswakarma, Yoga Raj Sapkota, Shikhar Nath Sapkota, B. B.  Khadka, Psychosocial Counselor Rudra Thebe facilitated the training. "The training has supported to fulfill the demand of the district court," said the district judge, Naba Raj Dahal during the closing ceremony. 'The training remained fruitful and could fulfil our objectives." Said the section officer of Mediation Council, Supreme Court, Debi Ram Bhandari. The training was organized by HURF with support of Mediation Council, Supreme Court.
Basic Training in VDC level
HURF  organized basic mediation training for 8 days in VDC level to develop community mediators in 3 VDCs  namely Mahamai, Banjho & Shakhphara VDCs . 23 participants from each VDCs got the training. The training was based on the curricula of the Mediation Council of Supreme Court and remained practical. The training was facilitated by HURF facilitators Shikhar Nath Sapkota, Parash Rai, & Gayatri Thegim.  The training program are supported by ZFD-GIZ. HURF has planned to develop trained community mediators in 8 VDCs.
