Quite after the completion of the formation and training of Community Mediation Committees in all the the VDCs and Municipalities, district level conference of the mediators was organized on 25-26, August, 2017 in Ilam. The conference was focused on the role of mediators after the change in the structure and system. Coordinators & representatives of all CMCs, Mayor's and Deputies of all municipalities & rural municipalities, Local development officer, political leaders were participated in the conference. The mediators provided their suggestions and recommendation for institutional development of the community mediation, role of mediator, linkage between mediators and thQuite after the completion of the formation and training of Community Mediation Committees in all the the VDCs and Municipalities, district level conference of thee local judicial committee and other stakeholders. Executive Director of HURF Nepal, Devendra Biswakarma presented the progress and achievements of community mediation program in Ilam. HURF Vice chairperson and advocate BB Khadka presented a paper on the legal development and provision of community mediation in existing laws. The conference was organized by HURF Nepal with financial support of ZFD-GIZ under the community mediation project.
