Mayors, deputies and District coordination committees agreed to pass the mediation procedure recommended by HURF Nepal in Ilam district in a recommendation meeting organized in Ilam on 5th March, 2018. The mayors and deputies of all municipalities came up with the decision to bring mediation in practice by government as many cases are pending without procedure at the moment. Furthermore, they expressed that the governments should pass the procedure to set up the mediation centres, make roster of the mediators, and conduct mediation process. According to the plan the government will pass the procedure within a month and immediately set up mediation centers in ward and municipality offices and start the service immediately. Furthermore, basic mediation training for the members of judicial committees, orientation for the executive members of the municipalities is incorporated in the plan. The meeting was organized by HURF Nepal in coordination with DCC.
