HURF Nepal awarded journalist Kokila Dhakal with 4th Human Rights Journalist of the Year on the occasion of 108th International Women Day in Ilam. Mr. Ram Rana, law maker of provincial parliament, and the chief guest of the award ceremony awarded her with a felicitation letter and ten thousand rupees. 'Awarded Dhakal is an active journalist writing on the issues of women and children for more than a decade and she is the first women president of the Federation of Nepalese Journalist district branch.' mentioned in the felicitation letter. DDC coordinator Ganesh Baral, mayor of Ilam municipality Mahesh Basnet, leaders of political parties, vice chairperson of the NGO federation, FNJ central committee member Satendra Jabegu expressed their best wishes to Mrs. Dhakal and suggested HURF to continue the award in the days ahead. The ceremony was chaired by HURF president Mohan Singh Thebe.  HURF Nepal has already awarded journalists namely Yagya Sharma, Satendra Jabegu and Chandra Bhandari in last 3 years.
