Participants of a district level interaction on "Women in politics, election and decision making" highlighted the need of gender and social inclusion policy, plan and effective implementation of existing gender equality policy by the political parties and government to ensure the women leadership on 8th August, 2018 in Ilam. Senior advocate, J.B Lungeli presented a paper quoting the implementation of existing constitutional provision and participation. The report showed that the mandatory provisions were fulfilled in general election, local and province election but still the proactive participation is in vague. District president of Nepali Congress Himalaya Karmacharya quoted that women themselves should be ready to hold the leadership as well as party has to provide opportunities. Office secretary of Nepal Communist Party Nawaraj Sankhar said that we had to be hopeful for the latest achievement of last decade in inclusion and women participation and raised the need of institutionalization of achievement. Women leaders and members of resource groups Nirmala Sanjel, Tara Gurung, Urmila Tamang & Kalika Karki raised that skill , opportunity and economic empowerment of the  women is the first need to be active in politics but still this aspect is not addressed. DCC chief Ganesh Baral said that there is a need of social and policy reform to ensure equal and quality participation.
