Mediation & Legal skills for Judicial Committee

Judicial Committees of all 6 Palikas of Terhathum Districts were trained on mediation skills and laws. The training was conducted 14-20 September, 2018 in Ilam. They were trained on the concept of conflict, mediation process, role of the judicial committees and process of functioning the judicial committee. "The practical training classes found fruitful so that we can handle the whole process of registering complaining, filtering, sending to mediation, decision and writing agreements as well as referring to the court and respective authorities." said the deputy mayor of Mynaglung Municipality. The participants had a common voice to pass or amend their mediation procedure for the effective functioning and to extend the mediation services up to ward and community level. In the formal closing chief guest ceremony law maker of province parliament Ram Rana highlighted the need of coordination among judicial committees and knowledge sharing for their effective and impactful functioning. The training was organized by HURF Nepal with support GIZ-ZFD under the Mediation for Peace and Justice Project.
