Judicial Committees of all 9 Palikas of Taplejung & 8 Palikas of Sankhuwashaban Districts were trained on mediation skills and laws. The trainings were conducted in November & December 2018. 3 members of the judicial committee and 1 staff of the respective section of the palikas were participated from each palika. They were trained on the concept of conflict, mediation process as well as the role of the judicial committees and process of functioning the judicial committee. The participants had a common voice to pass or amend their mediation procedure for the effective functioning and to extend the mediation services up to ward and community level. HURF has already provided the same training to the judicial committees from Ilam and Panchthar districts. The training was organized by HURF Nepal with support GIZ-ZFD under the Mediation for Peace and Justice Project.
