One day zonal level workshop on federalism and Human Rights was organized on 16 May, 2013 at Sungava Hall Ilam. Concept of Federalism, situation of Human Rights within federalism and issues of Inclusion were discussed during the workshop. 3 papers based on Human Rights, Federalism and Inclusion were presented. Mr. Bashant Prasad Adhikari, Legal Officer, SPCBN/UNDP, Advocate Raju Prasad Chapagai/Advocate and Mr. Pawan Jaisawal - Federalism related issues from human rights and inclusion perspective presented the paper. Mr. Juddha Pd. Baidhya, former Campus Chief of MRMC, Mr. Shikhar Nath Sapkota, HR Activists, and Ms. Renuka Rai, Women Activist raised their comment on the papers. District level political leaders, journalists, Human Rights activists, dalit activists, lawyers, and district level stakeholders from Mechi zone participated the workshop.
Participants expressed that Rights to Self Determination is not for Separation, but equal participation in rights to development. Similarly, the workshop highlighted the guarantee of Human Rights, Social Inclusion and Gender inclusion in the new constitution of Nepal. The workshop was organized by HURF Nepal and JuRi Nepal Kathmandu.
