HURF Nepal and Abhiyan jointly conducted public hearing in ward level ward no 6 of Ilam municipality on 22th May about the services delivery of the municipality. A report was presented which was prepared based on citizen report card, exist pole and community score card by Mr. Bhakta Thami from Abhiyan Nepal. Similarly, Mr. Agni Adhikari, Executive Officer of Ilam municipality presented the report of services and services delivery of the Municipality. After the report, more than 25 participants raised questions which were answered by Mr. Ram Kumar Shah and Mr. Agni Adhikari, the Mayor, and concerned officials from different branches. Participants demanded the active participation of the marginalized groups such women, dalits, Janajaties in decision making committees and all sectors of development in ward level and municipality level. Similarly, they also demanded to protect the inns and travelers rests, to preserve the public lands,  forestation in the pasture lands, and to implement the green city campaign its project effectively. They also suggested to act more actively against corruption.

Political leaders, civil society leaders and community people appreciated the program while closing session. They expressed that it was the first time that the public hearing in ward level was conducted. The program made the community people clear about the services and it improved the relation between community and the municipality. The ward dwellers thanked HURF and Abhiyan Nepal for conducting such program to make the municipality more responsible in public issue.  The program was organized by Municipality level Citizen Council and chaired by Mr. Dig Bdr. Koirala, the CC President.
