Women Rights Group (WRG) Santidada with coordination of VDC conducted public hearing program of the VDC services and Service delivery and its annual planning on 30th September, 2013. Mr. Keshar Bahadur Rai, VDC secretary released a progress report of the VDC. Mr. Bhakta Thami, HURF member, delivered a report of Exit Pole and Citizen Report Cards, (collection of the responses of public based on the service which they got). After the report the VDC secretary replied the raised questions from the public. The participants expressed their commitment to develop joint effort with VDC to build the VDC building, and to work jointly for making the VDC as a Model VDC in Ilam. Similarly, they expressed their commitment to implement the budget of the target groups especially the budget of women, children and dalit effectively.
The public hearing program was chaired by Ms. Tika Shrestha, President of WRG Santidada, and facilitated by Ms. Renuka Rai, WRG Manager of HURF Nepal. VDC level political leaders, activists, line agencies, women, dalits, media and civil society participated the program. More than 70 participants actively took part in the program.
The program was conducted under the Women Rights Program, (WRG) with support of GIZ/SUNAG.
