2 days orientation on Public Hearing, Public Audit and Gender Responsive Budgeting has been conducted in 8 VDCs from 10 August- 26 September in district Ilam. The two days orientations were conducted with VDC level stakeholders. VDC secretaries, head of VDC level political parties, In-charges of police posts, health posts, post offices, headmasters of schools, women leaders, indigenous leaders, and social workers were participated in the programs.  The aim of the orientation program is to sensitize the VDC level key stakeholders and service providers about the importance of public audit, public hearing and the need of gender responsive budget.
The program reviewed the VDC's annual plans (women focused) and developed action plans through gender prospective. All VDCs prioritized the public hearing as their first activity in their planning.
The orientation program has been conducted in 8 VDC (where Women Rights Group exist) under Women Rights Group program. The programs were jointly organized by HURF Nepal, VDCs and Women Rights Groups in their respective VDCs.
