A study visit on the concept of School as a Peace Zone has been carried out by a 2 member team of HURF, Nepal. Mr. Yoga Raj Sapkota, the Monitoring Officer and Conflict Sensitivity Expert, and Mr. Nawaraj Shankar, Program Coordinator of the Effort against Child Rights Violation and for Peace Education jointly carried out the study. The team visited several VDCs in Panchthar districts, organized several meetings, interviews, interaction with different level stakeholders, and workshop for conflict analysis with peace incentives and the participants of the peace zone campaign. More than 180 schools from 18 VDCs have been declared as Peace Zone in Panchthar District. The workshop and interactions program were locally organized by the district office HURF Panchthar and HUCODEC Nepal. According to the Monitoring Unit, the final report will be released within 2 weeks.
