German Ambassador at HURF Nepal

H.E. German Embassador Mr. Frank Makey along with his delegation team visited HURF Nepal on 23 March, 2014. The team of GIZ –SUNAG , KWF, and ZFD GIZ also visited on the occasion. The team monitored the HURF activities, achievements and observed the gallery presentation. HURF Nepal organized a gallery presentation on which HURF's thematic issues: Human Rights and rights, Gender and Social Inclusion, Democracy and Governance, Conflict, Peace and Justice, Research and publication were separately presented. Similarly, specific issues such as Domestic violence and its Network, women rights program, child rights, positive discrimination, psychosocial and shelter services, forum theatres were presented.
Mr. Mohan Singh Thebe, president of HURF and Ms. Barbara Jochheim, Peace Advisor from ZFD jointly welcomed the team. Mr. Thebe remarked that the visit of the senior representatives of the German Government encouraged the HURF team to work more in community, and remembered that the cooperation contributed HURF for its strategic direction, through organizational and outreach support and added that the visit added another link in the chain of cooperation while addressing the meeting. Similarly, Ms. Jochheim highlighted the need of the cooperation since the cooperation has already developed more than 500 mediators, theatre actors and psychosocial counselor which need to be mobilized to give a change in conflict resolution.
The Ambassador highlighted the need of local election for the better protection and promotion of human rights and the rights of the target groups. He thanked the team of HURF for the remarkable achievements and support to the community and added that Germany and the whole Europe is always ready for the issue of women, children, human rights and democracy.
