Public hearing on children issues especially on the budget allocation of the children and service delivery of the VDC along with planning was released in 25 VDCs in Mechi zone. The coordinators of Village Child Protection Committees chaired the activities where the VDC secretaries released the report of the children budget and VDC plan in the field of children.
Participants raised the question on the proper implementation of the budget, child friendly planning and regular public hearing. The children budget of VDCs was not properly implemented in most of the VDCs. The VDC where VCPCs formed started to implement the budget in the field of children. The program started the culture of transparency insuring rights to information. The VDC secretaries expressed their commitment to address the children friendly planning and to continue such public hearing in future.
The program was jointly organized by HURF and VCPC with coordination with VDCs under the Effort agains Child Rights Violation and for Peace Education. The program was supported by Kindermissionwerk Germany. The first Phase of the project has been over with these activities which have been conducted in 25 VDCs in Mechi Zone.
