Collaboration Meeting Held Between National Dalit Commission and Human Rights Forum (HURF) Nepal

A coordination and collaboration meeting between the National Dalit Commission (NDC) and Human Rights Forum (HURF) Nepal was held today at the Commission's office in Kupandol. The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation to protect Dalit rights and eliminate caste-based discrimination.

The program was chaired by the Honorable Chairperson of the Commission, Devraj Vishwakarma. The meeting saw the significant presence of Commission members Hon. Meena Devi Sob, Hon. Mehele Parki, Hon. Sundar Purkuti, Secretary Jhanak Kumar Khatri, and expert member Hira Vishwakarma.

During the interaction, representatives from HURF Nepal provided an institutional introduction and shared details regarding their ongoing campaigns against caste discrimination. A key focus of the discussion was the project "Solidarity for Dignity," which is currently being implemented with the support of Misereor Germany. The team discussed how the Commission and HURF Nepal could work together more effectively to ensure justice and dignity for marginalized communities.

Representing HURF Nepal at the meeting were Senior Consultant Karna Bahadur Nepali, Admin/HR Officer Bhakta Bahadur Thami, and Project Coordinator Man Kumar Baraily.

The Chairperson and members of the Commission expressed their commitment to collaborating with civil society organizations like HURF Nepal to address grassroots issues and improve the human rights situation of the Dalit community across the country. HURF Nepal expressed its sincere gratitude to the Chairperson and the entire Commission team for their warm welcome and productive dialogue.
