About us
HURF Nepal is a non-government Human Rights Organization. It was founded in 1998 as the first specific organization to work on the issues of Human Rights in Ilam District. HURF Nepal is working as one of the leading Human Rights Organizations in Koshi Province. In 1998, HURF was registered at DAO in Ilam and HURF was affiliated at the Social Welfare Council in Kathmandu in 2006. HURF Nepal works in different sectors like human rights, peace building, conflict transformation, justice, women and children`s rights, good governance, social inclusion, anti human trafficking & labour rights, caste based discrimination, Emergency support to victims of violence. HURF provides legal, mediation, psychosocial, shelter support to the victims of violence especially for children and women. HURF Nepal has been focusing on enabling capacities of local governments to promote rights, human rights, and justice system in local level.

HURF Nepal is the member of Human Rights Alliance, Founder member of Eastern Network against Domestic Violence and works with different national and international partners organizations. HURF is authorized organization as a Training providing organization, and authorized organization for conducting mediation service by Mediation Council of Supreme Court under Mediation Act 2068 of Nepal.
